The shopper: Reverie is a treasure trove of vintage clothing

The city's latest vintage treasure trove, Reverie, is located in the most unexpected of places: inside a hair salon in an office building on Duddell Street. But don't let that fool you - Reverie is unique in that it offers one of the city's biggest selections of vintage designer clothing, along with contemporary designs from top vintage-loving brands.

The small but well-stocked boutique was opened by former PR executive Hannah Sutton and her British-based sister, interior design specialist Kate Kitchen, who sources many of the items in Europe. The 500 sq ft space is decked out like a modern boudoir, with dark wood flooring, an antique gold cabinet, an opulent crystal chandelier, and some limited edition Miss Lanvin dolls decorating the shelves.

The goods are all tried and tested classics, and highlights including a Lanvin black evening dress and an Yves Saint Laurent couture jumpsuit, along with must-haves from Christian Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Salvatore Ferragamo. Modern names such as Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney, and Ports 1961, are available at a discounted price.

The store also stocks a range of new brands from Europe that have a vintage spirit and style. Highlights include Lizzie O, which features unique pieces made from antique kimonos dating back to the 1930s, and 20th Century Foxy with its '30s and '50s vintage-inspired dresses.

Every vintage lover knows the importance of accessories, and there are plenty, from Chanel handbags to Belinda Haag cuffs, which are made by reworking antique gems and beads.

Rosie Fox's embellished jewelleries are more affordable, while Fancier Feather offers peacock fascinators for a glamorous look.
