In our latest round-up of K-drama casting news out of Korea, stars are teaming up for a cinematic melodrama, a serial killer thriller and a period action-horror, among others.
1. Our Movie
Jeon Yeo-been and Namkoong Min are in talks to appear in the coming TvN drama Our Movie.
The story will follow a film director trying to find his way out of a slump and an actress with a terminal illness who wants to become the protagonist of a film before her death.
Mulling the role of the director, Namkoong is known for Hot Stove League and One Dollar Lawyer and was last seen in the period romantic drama My Dearest.
Jeon, who is considering the part of the actress, has starred in series such as Vincenzo and Glitch and in 2023 appeared in A Time Called You. She will next be seen in the historical film Harbin, and she is currently filming the horror film Black Nuns alongside Song Hye-kyo.
The series is being penned by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, and it will be helmed by director Lee Jung-heum (Inspector Koo, Nobody Knows).
2. The Mantis
Jang Dong-yoon and Go Hyun-jung are considering offers to appear in a Korean remake of the French series La Mante (The Mantis).
The series follows the search for a serial killer who is mimicking the style of an earlier serial killer currently in jail. Leading the search is Detective Cha Soo-yul, who happens to be the son of the jailed killer. He attempts to track down the new killer with the help of his mother, Jung Yi-shin.
