One of the biggest TV shows of all time returns in 2024, a year that, for fans of Korean drama, will be packed with all manner of star-driven romantic comedies and ambitious high-concept series.

With so much intriguing content on the way, some hard choices may have to be made when fixing our viewing schedules this year.

Here, in order, are the 12 Korean dramas we are the most excited about in the coming year.

12. The 8 Show

Lead cast: Ryoo Jun-yeol, Chun Woo-hee, Park Jung-min

Reminiscent of Squid Game, The 8 Show is a hotly anticipated series that will mark the drama debut of Emergency Declaration director Han Jae-rim.

Based on a webtoon, the story concerns eight hard-up characters who are invited to participate in a reality game series. If they can stay in the same studio space for 100 days they will split 44.8 billion won (US$33.9 million), but there’s a catch.
