Benefit Cosmetics’ airbrush tan will give you a healthy summer glow
New airbrush tanning service in Stanley offers custom colours
For those who haven’t had time to work on their tans but want to look ready for the beach, Benefit Cosmetics has opened a store in Stanley that offers airbrush tanning.
Its Bronzing Pro team can custom-blend a healthy glow in minutes, and offers four basic tan colours. Choose from Healthy Glow: a light golden glow, perfect for first-timers; Light: a natural golden glow; Medium: a post-holiday glow; Dark: for experienced tanners, a deep, rich tan for those who want to look darker than what they can achieve naturally in the sun.
The cost of a full body tan is HK$400, a half-body tan is HK$250, and a face and décolleté tan is HK$150. The tan will gradually fade over the next five to seven days.
Here are some tips for pre-tanning and tanning aftercare:
The night before:
- Do not exfoliate skin on the face and body, especially knees, elbows and ankles
- Do not use any other tanning products
The day of your tan:
- Do not use deodorant, perfume or lotions since they contain oils which may react adversely to the treatment
- Wear dark, loose fitting clothes and sandals or flip flops since some of the colour may be transferred to the clothing
- Paper knickers are provided and bras can be kept on during the treatment
- Wear a dark swimsuit or old underwear to tan in
After your session:
- To give the tanning solution time to work, avoid showering, bathing, working out, swimming or getting wet for eight to 12 hours
- Keep skin moisturised especially after showering to retain the tan
- Do not exfoliate skin until your tan has faded
- Do not use any other tanning products
