Two sayings spring to mind when it comes to Valentine’s Day – “there is no sincerer love than the love of food” and “the way to a man’s heart is through their stomach”.
With that in mind, February 14 is the perfect day to treat your significant other to something delicious to eat. To help you figure out what to give your valentine, we have picked our favourite food gifts this year in Hong Kong.
1. La Piccolo Citrino
The restaurant’s pastry chef, Asuka Matsubara, is known for her delicate creations under the now defunct brand Kiyoka, and, like those, her desserts at La Piccolo Citrino reflect her Kyoto upbringing and French culinary training.
Launched just in time for Valentine’s Day is a strawberry tart made with seasonal berries from Nara, Japan, and apple shavings shaped like roses.
