Valentine’s Day means different things to different people.
Some might give their loved one a gift – jewellery, flowers, a designer handbag – or might whisk them off for a romantic holiday.
For others, however, the heart is most happy when the stomach is satisfied – and Hong Kong has plenty of options to make that happen.
From romantic lunches and dinners to an indulgent afternoon tea, we have you covered. Even pet owners are catered for.

1. Honey inspiration at Finds
Nordic restaurant Finds in The Luxe Manor, Tsim Sha Tsui, is joining forces with manuka honey brand Kore New Zealand to dish up a honey-themed Valentine’s Day dinner on February 13 and 14.
Dishes include honey-roasted French pigeon, a honey chocolate tart, a Hokkaido scallop carpaccio and half an Atlantic lobster thermidor with Champagne foam and lobster and butternut squash risotto. Amp it up with a Flaming Kisses cocktail (HK$98).

2. Love feast at Leela
Causeway Bay restaurant Leela, known for its modern spin on Indian cuisine, has curated a six-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu (HK$1,188) that is available exclusively on February 14. Dishes include crab xec xec (a mild Goan-style curry), lamb katsuri biryani and a decadent, heart-shaped chocolate strawberry dessert.
Take note: a three-day advance pre-order is required for the Valentine’s Day menu.

3. Decadent delights at Somm
Somm, in the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, has a Valentine’s Day menu that includes tenderloin, wild mushroom duxelles and foie gras pithivier with sauce Perigueux, and salmon bass with chicory and sherry vinegar confit. We also love the sound of the green tea tiramisu bowl for two.
The four-course dinner (seating between 5.30pm and 6.30pm) and six-course dinner (seating between 8pm and 8.30pm) are priced at HK$1,398 and HK$1,798 per person respectively.

4. Hearts catered for at Heimat
Heimat chef Peter Find is upping the romance stakes with a Valentine’s Day three-course lunch (HK$1,288 per couple) and a six-course dinner (HK$2,999 per couple) on February 13, 14 and 15.
Highlights include Brittany lobster with leek ragout, 63 degree egg and Oscietra caviar; and spotted wolf fish with parsnip purée, honey bean and a shellfish broth. End the night with a chocolate and raspberry surprise dessert. Wine or juice pairings are available.

5. Yin and Yang-inspired dining at Man Ho
One-Michelin-star Man Ho Chinese restaurant has woven yin and yang philosophy into its menu for two (HK$2,888). Available on February 14, it features two nourishing soups with traditional Chinese medicine and ingredients.
“Soup for Him” combines morinda root, conpoy, sea horse, black chicken and Chinese turtle shell, while “Soup for Her” is made with fish maw, ginseng, sea whelk and pear.
The menu includes chilled crabmeat with caviar, chilled geoduck with mustard, deep-fried chicken wing with chicken liver and barbecued pork, as well as braised New Zealand abalone with maltose.
Finish with a heart-shaped baked mashed red date pastry, chilled pistachio dumpling and sweetened mango cream with coconut milk.

6. Love it up at Salon Lanson
Salon Lanson in Causeway Bay is offering a five-course dinner (HK$1,450 per person) on February 14, with a live piano, flute and saxophone accompaniment.
Lovebirds can also choose their favourite flowers, which will be made into a bespoke bouquet by the in-house florist. Guests will then decorate their chocolate bonbon gift box with personalised messages, creating an edible memento of their special night.
Dinner begins with a shared tin of Salon Lanson-branded caviar newly unveiled in collaboration with Royal Caviar Club, paired with two glasses of champagne, followed by a heart-shaped jelly made from tomato consommé, topped with king salmon rolls.
Other dishes include langoustine ceviche and chopped otoro (very fatty tuna), and smoked French pigeon with pan-seared foie gras.

7. Lava is in the air at Aqua
On February 14, Aqua is dishing up a five-course Valentine’s Day dinner (HK$1,588 per person) combining Italian and Japanese cuisine.
The menu includes scallop and crab steamed chawanmushi (egg custard), beetroot tortellini with burrata, red prawns, and sea urchin, while a special surprise is the “Love Letter” – a plain chocolate lava cake set with a gianduja crepe.
The best bit is you can request a personalised message written in chocolate. A wine pairing is available for an extra HK$688 per person.

8. Love notes at Uma Nota
Brazilian-Japanese restaurant and bar Uma Nota has a Valentine’s Day dinner menu (HK$688 per person) on February 14 that includes fresh Hokkaido scallop tartare and roasted cauliflower with an Amazon spice rub and vegan herb mayonnaise.
But it is the Maça do Amor “Brazilian love dessert” of apple ganache, apple jelly and a vanilla sponge cake that should tickle the taste buds the most.

9. Caprice for a feast
Caprice in the Four Seasons hotel has a six-course Valentine’s Day dinner (HK$4,200 per person) that starts with Alaskan king crab and celeriac mille-feuille dressed in truffle vinaigrette, followed by slow-cooked langoustine accompanied by Brittany seafood variation and verbena cream, crowned with Kristal caviar.
A curated selection from Caprice’s cheese cellar is also part of a menu that ends with a dessert of rose flower adorned with coconut Chantilly and lychee confit.

10. Tempting tasting menu at CulinArt 1862
CulinArt 1862 is dishing up a six-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu (HK$2,588 per couple) on February 14 with a wine pairing option at HK$788 per person.
The menu includes Sicilian red prawn tartare topped with Kristal caviar and pickled butternut squash, while mains include Hokkaido scallops and Wagyu beef strip loin.
Those with a sweet tooth will love the wild strawberry mille-feuille with rose jam, white chocolate cream and tomato sorbet. Ladies will receive a rose and artisanal chocolates.

11. Pet-friendly Valentine’s Day at District 8
On February 14, District 8 has a Valentine’s Day menu in a two-course (HK$420) and three-course (HK$460) format. Mains include pork cheek pappardelle, seared amadai (tilefish) and mushroom pie. The Paris-Brest dessert with strawberry cream, almond flakes and Chantilly cream looks tempting.
Its outdoor seating means guests can bring along their pets, and for an extra HK$150 can enjoy a pet table complete with pet snacks and toys.

12. Whispering Pink at Sheraton’s Sunset Grill
Sunset Grill at the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel takes Whispering Angel rosé as inspiration for its Whispering Pink Afternoon Tea (HK$388 for two).
Available at weekends from February 14 to March 31, it includes savoury items such as home-smoked salmon, lemon and pink peppercorn cream cheese on beetroot bread, crayfish cocktail with Sichuan mayonnaise on brioche.
Desserts include raspberry chocolate truffle cake, Whispering Angel rosé jelly, raspberry madeleine, and strawberry rose watermelon cake. Two glasses of Whispering Angel rosé wine are included in the tea set.
