Hong Kong is heating up this summer with a slew of new restaurant openings, including a big-name launch in the middle of June – when chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn of Bangkok’s Le Du will unveil his first international outpost at K11 Musea in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
Elsewhere, a tapas place in Sheung Wan and a pair of restaurants inside the Palace Museum in West Kowloon are set to open their doors. And there are new cafes to explore for those looking for something more casual or a quick coffee break.
1. Niras
The menu which earned Le Du its first Michelin star showcases contemporary and innovative Thai cuisine – and diners can expect a similar one at the Hong Kong outpost. Signature dishes include river prawn with tom yum rice (the only one that will remain unchanged from the original menu), duck in massaman curry, and mango sticky rice. The restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
