A number of Hong Kong restaurant groups have taken the leap and expanded overseas with tried-and-tested concepts incubated in the city. From New York to London, diners can now get a taste of Hong Kong’s sophisticated – and diverse – culinary culture.
As popular yakitori eatery Yardbird sets to take flight in Los Angeles later this year, here are five other Hong Kong restaurants that have made it abroad.

Aqua Restaurant Group recently opened Hutong in New York, taking over the space formerly occupied by Le Cirque.

Hutong presents a range of Chinese dishes from Beijing, Sichuan, Hunan and Shanghai. On the menu are dishes such as halibut red star noodles in a clear spicy broth, slow-cooked wagyu beef cheek puffs, yu xiang fried dumplings with pork, salted fish, and broad beans in a crispy glutinous rice wrapper. There is also a creative list of Chinese-themed cocktails.
