Despite taking on her first antagonistic role, actress Lim Ji-yeon has made a strong impression with her latest performance as vicious queen bee Park Yeon-jin in Netflix’s hit Korean drama series The Glory, proving herself a versatile performer.

“When I played the character, I wanted the whole world to hate me,” Lim said during an interview at a cafe in the South Korean capital Seoul’s Gangnam district.

“When I take on a role for a project, I try to make viewers love and relate to my character. But I’ve never had to develop a character to be hated. And there was a catharsis that came from it.”
