Take a few unused superheroes and superheroines, put them together in an old abbey with the best of the Marvel universe and out comes one of the most exciting turn-based strategy games in a while.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns was developed by Firaxis, the studio best known for creating genre favourite XCOM, and it mixes tried-and-true gameplay with a card game and a pinch of social simulation.

The plot? A demon called Lilith wants to subjugate the world with the help of the criminal organisation Hydra and they soon leave New York in ruins.

Only a small group of heroines called the Midnight Suns dares to fight the evil from their base in a remote abbey. Although they can call on Captain Marvel, Iron Man or Spider-Man for help, things still look bad for the team.

The only hope is the revival of a legendary hero named the Hunter. Players then become the Hunter (who can be either male or female) and they travel from town to town to face their enemies in round-robin battles.
