K-pop star Seolhyun of girl group AOA is facing pressure to quit her role in the upcoming South Korean drama Day and Night following her band’s bullying scandal, but the show’s crew says she will not step down.
“The filming has been taking place as scheduled,” a crew member was quoted as saying. “Seolhyun will not be removed.”
Earlier this month, former AOA member Mina – whose real name is Kwon Min-ah – accused former band leader Jimin (Shin Ji-min) of bullying her for years while she was part of the group from 2012 to 2019.

Jimin apologised and quit the girl band, but Mina also accused fellow AOA member Seolhyun and Han Sung-ho, CEO of AOA agency FNC Entertainment, of mistreating her. She has insisted Seolhyun – whose real name is Kim Seol-hyun – and Han had turned a blind eye when she was suffering.
Mina posted a photo on Instagram showing an injured wrist with a message hinting at suicide.

She wrote: “I want to go to a place where I can be happy – I am feeling so much pain here. Do not even come to my funeral even if I die. I will harass you after my death.
“Words can’t describe how filthy Shin Ji-min, Han Sung-ho and Kim Seol-hyun are. They have driven one normal person to death.”
Mina’s agency, Woori Actors, said on Sunday that her injuries were not life-threatening and that she had been taken to hospital. FNC apologised on Sunday and said: “We sincerely hope Kwon recovers her health as soon as possible. We will strive to seek an amicable settlement with her.”


Internet users are still accusing Seolhyun of being a “bystander”, calling on the drama production team to remove her from the Day and Night show.
Day and Night follows a group of people who try to unlock the secrets of a mysterious event that occurred 26 years ago. Seolhyun plays a police officer in the soap opera.
Seolhyun debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 with the album “Angels’ Story”. The group had a series of hits including Miniskirt and Short Hair.
