K-pop star Daniel Kang has filed a complaint with police against internet users who have been posting malicious comments online.

The move comes less than two weeks after Kang announced he would be taking a break from the K-pop industry to deal with mental health issues, and comes as South Korea deals with a spate of celebrity deaths.

On Monday, his agency submitted a list of names or usernames to Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, saying: “There is [to be] no mercy for them.”

Police say they will review the document detailing what the singer called acts of disseminating groundless rumours, sexual harassment and defamation.

In September, Kang took legal action against another group of malicious commentators. A police investigation into them was “almost done”, according to Kang's agency.
