Performing arts shows are in full swing this week with the first staging of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX), while there is also classical music, ballet and a concert with a jazz legend to look forward to.

1. The Hong Kong Joy of Music Festival 2024

Now in its 19th edition, The Hong Kong Joy of Music Festival is back with its much-loved abundance of concerts and masterclasses that have brought a great many internationally acclaimed virtuosos to the city.

Organised by The Chopin Society of Hong Kong, the festival runs from October 16-22 at Hong Kong City Hall.

Acclaimed Uruguayan classical guitarist Alvaro Pierri will play selected classical Hispanic music compositions and his own improvisations on October 18.
