Croissants are best with orange juice, says one reader.

A sweet deal

My ideal breakfast would be strawberry pancakes with Nutella, because I love the way it all melts in your mouth. The first bite is super sweet – and I love sweet things – with steaming, silky chocolate flowing in your mouth like a river … once you’ve had one bite, you can’t stop!

Ooh la la ...

I would have a croissant, with a glass of orange juice. I like this French-style breakfast because, like France, it just feels so romantic – and it will give me enough energy to tackle another new day.

Food with a view

Picture this: a slice of toast with honey, a cup of black tea, and a breathtaking view from a rooftop. How perfect is that?

Bread and breakfast

I like to have a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Sometimes, I’ll also have a piece of bread (raisin bread is my favourite). Having a good breakfast is important because it give us the energy we need to start our day!

So delicious!

I love to start my day with a steamed bun and some soybean milk. I can’t think of anything better than chowing down on a mouthful of bun and then drinking some soybean milk. Sadly, I have to buy them and eat them on the way to school instead of at home.

Full of energy

For me, it’s fried eggs and bread for breakfast. This meal is tasty, nutritious, and will provide you enough energy for the whole day.

Congee is the way to go

I start my day with a bowl of congee called teng tsai jook made by my grandmother. It has fresh fish, dried shrimps, squid, beef, and peanuts. It’s very nutritious and provides lots of energy. Also, on cold winter mornings, having a bowl of grandma’s hot, home-made congee makes me feel warm and ready to tackle the day!

100 out of 100

A piece of bread, one sausage, and two poached eggs is the way to go. It’s an inexpensive meal that will keep me healthy and full. Most importantly, the sausage and eggs would look like the number 100, which is what I need to keep in mind on the day of a maths test!

A noodle-y good meal

I would like to have noodles for breakfast. They’re one of my favourites, and they keep me going until lunch.

Alice Ho Nga-yiu, 12, Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School

Easy-peasy oatmeal

I would start my day with a bowl of oatmeal. After a good night’s sleep, I need to top up my energy levels, and oatmeal can do that. It’s also really easy to make, which is why I think it’s the best meal for students in the morning.
