The lab, operating in Hong Kong Science Park, is an extension of the company’s lab, Intact Lab

The lab designs cutting-edge solutions and leverages data and AI, making life easier for customers. More than 40 AI applications are in production, with over 120 experts working at its lab offices across Canada.

“We are fortunate to have Canada as our home base, which has led the world in terms of AI development. We are increasingly a destination for top talent and believe Hong Kong’s rich diversity and proximity to world-class AI expertise and top universities will contribute to our talent pipeline,” Hirji says. Intact was voted one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for the last three years.

“It is an exciting time to join the insurance industry. You’ll be shaping the future of insurance and working on a variety of stimulating and challenging projects that deliver business value, allowing you to make a difference and grow your skills and career,” Hirji says. “We have a massive amount of clean data set to work with, and our structure allows for many opportunities for employees to collaborate and work in the different offices.”

Intact has labs in Montreal, Toronto and Quebec city, with another planned for western Canada. Hirji hopes to grow the team in Hong Kong to 30-strong over the next few years.
