PwC to invest in 1 billion yuan training institute in China’s Sanya, partners with international business schools such as INSEAD
- Sanya municipal government and PwC to build Reimagine Park in the southern Hainan province
- Institute to host INSEAD, Thunderbird School of Global Management and the Danish Design Centre
The popular Chinese resort city of Sanya in southern Hainan province will soon be home to a 1 billion yuan (US$144 million) training institute funded by PwC China.
Reimagine Park will be built by the Sanya municipal government and PwC, according to a joint announcement at a launch event in Hong Kong on Saturday. The park will be a platform for the PwC Asia-Pacific Trust Leadership Institute as well as a campus for international business schools.
“Delivering Reimagine Park is a critical pillar of PwC China’s strategy to build trust and drive sustained outcomes for leaders as they navigate the new era,” PwC China said in a statement.
The park is part of the accounting firm’s global flagship project, which aims to offer development pathways to business leaders through workshops and specialised training courses. The centre is designed to offer both physical and virtual training to PwC staff and its clients.
It will also be home to French business school INSEAD, American business school Thunderbird School of Global Management as well as the Danish Design Centre.
The international business schools bring together institutes from the education and creative industries, said Raymund Chao, chairman at PwC Asia-Pacific and China. The firm chose to invest in China as the country is putting “more resources into talent development, technology, innovation and sustainability,” he said.
