New | DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2015 kick off, winners on December 3
The DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2015 were launched on Monday with a lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Landmark.
The deadline for nominations is August 14 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on December 3.
“When we started the Hong Kong Business Awards 26 years ago, our aims were to encourage the region’s entrepreneurial spirit and to remind businessmen in Hong Kong to spare time to celebrate success,” said Ken Lee, the Hong Kong and Macau managing director of global logistics firm DHL.
As well as selecting a businessperson of the year, the awards include categories for executives, owner-operators and young entrepreneurs. There are also awards for China companies, international business and SMEs.
The judges of the awards include Professor Richard Wong Yue-chim of the University of Hong Kong, HSBC commercial banking head Albert Chan, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce CEO Shirley Yuen, and South China Morning Post business editor Nick Edwards.
Last year’s winners came from fields including transport and logistics, insurance, asset management, investigative services, jewellery, beauty and hospitality.
