Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Self-winding Chronograph

At last year's US Open, golfer Rory McIlroy wore this timepiece from the brand's Royal Oak collection, with a octagonal bezel secured by eight screws. The 39mm brushed stainless steel case houses a silver white waffle dial, on which the luminescent-filled silver central hour and minute hands indicate the time alongside the small seconds counter at six o'clock. The date display is located between four and five o'clock, while the black centred sub-dials are a 12-hour counter at nine o'clock and a 30-minute counter located at three o'clock. The central chronograph hand, the second indexes and the tip of the small counter hands are all in red. The watch (HK$178,000) has a matching stainless steel bracelet, a power reserve of 40 hours and is water-resistant to 50 metres.

English rugby union player Chris Ashton's athletic image is suited to this chunky timepiece featuring a blue dial. Its 48mm stainless steel case houses a G1710 self-winding movement, which powers the central dial and the chronograph function presented via the central second hand, a 12-hour counter at nine o'clock and a 30-minute counter at three o'clock. The two counters are magnified by 15 per cent, creating a unique look for the timepiece and allowing for readability under any conditions - and the index markers and hands are in luminous yellow. The steel control pushers, which feature a high-grip pattern that spells 'Clous de Paris', are to the right of the dial. Fitted with a blue crocodile leather strap, the watch (HK$78,000) has a 48-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 100 metres.

This 100-piece limited-edition timepiece (HK$89,900) is created in tribute to the ski racer Didier Cuche. It has a bold 44mm case in the brand's 12-sided design and a dial with a repeated tone-on-tone motif depicting the sportsman. The motif - combining half of Cuche's bare face and half of it in his skiing goggles - is also crafted on the centre position of the transparent caseback alongside his signature. The chronograph's minute hand is mounted with the central hour and minute hands, to enhance readability, and its tip is painted with orange Super-LumiNova. Water-resistant to 100 metres, it is presented on a black vulcanised rubber strap.
