Actress wishes upon world's biggest Swarovski Christmas star for a birthday surprise
Happy Birthday to you, Carina Lau Ka-ling!
The veteran actress said on Monday that she was hoping for a surprise gift from her busy actor-husband Tony Leung Chiu-wai.
Lau was speaking after flicking on the switch to illuminate the world's largest outdoor Swarovski crystal Christmas decoration displayed on the wall of the Hang Lung Centre in Causeway Bay.
The more than six-metre-high star is made of about a million Swarovski crystals and will be on display until January 3.
Although the actress was still waiting for a present from her husband, Swarovski showered her with a set of crystal jewellery as a thank-you token and early birthday gift.
'There are many different kinds of surprises,' the actress said. 'I often surprise [Leung]. I think what matters is the effort. You need a bit of creativity to pull it off.'
