This week we test: scents for summer

Jocelyn Wong

Summer perfumes can be lighter than their winter counterparts - sniff out citrus and floral notes, or anything that puts you in a holiday mood.

Bobbi Brown Beach Eau de Parfum (HK$460/50ml)

True to its name, Beach is reminiscent of the perfect day at the beach: a blend of suntan lotion, waves and a delicate floral undertone that lingers on skin throughout the day.

L'Eau D'Issey Summer Eau de Toilette (HK$470/100ml)

A fresh smell bottled in a summery bottle, it's a perfect light fragrance for the hot summer that makes you dream of sea breezes.

Narcisco Rodriguez Eau de Musc Eau de Toilette (HK$820/125ml)

Yes, this is a lot of money, but it's a massive bottle, and one application leaves you smelling of roses, light musk and a little citrus for hours. Plus the bottle looks gorgeous.

Radiance Britney Spears (HK$297/30ml)

A pretty, sweet scent with notes of jasmine, iris, orange blossom and musk. The musk is quite strong, but the perfume is still fresh. The fancy pink bottle is another reason to love this.

Yves Saint Laurent Saharienne (HK$575/75ml)

A strong, exotic scent when first applied, the layers unfold to reveal a delicate floral note, with hints of mandarin and pink pepper. Sadly, the smell fades after an hour or so.
