This week we test: toner

Jocelyn Wong

Toner is the second stage in skincare, and removes any residual grease and grime. It also tightens pores and prepares skin for moisturiser.

Clarins Toning Lotion O/C (HK$210/200ml)

Gradually but effectively reduces pore size and smells amazing. This leaves skin feeling soft, clean and, best of all, very hydrated.

Promedial Moisture Lotion Light (HK370/75ml)

Totally oil-free feel, plus it sinks in well. Free of preservatives.

Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion (HK$280/177.4ml)

Not only makes skin feel soft and supple to the touch, but the sweet scent of natural oats and meadowsweet is amazing.

The Body Shop Nutriganics Refreshing Toner (HK$189/220ml)

The Earl Grey tea-like scent is sublimely refreshing. This gel-like toner is only suitable for oily-combination skin, though, as it has a mildly drying effect.

Orbis Aquaforce Lotion M (HK$189/180ml)

Helps fade blemishes, and is fragrance-free, so ideal for sensitive skin. Skin feels tauter and smoother, and all at a pretty affordable price.
