Sandra Ng Kwan-yue didn't win best actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards, but she got a consolation of sorts from Japanese brand Kos? when it gave her a big tacky 'Medal of Beauty' on Monday. As the new face of its Cosme Decorte line, the actress-comedienne (pictured with Kos?'s managing director Tomohiko Yamazaki) is not the obvious choice for a sexy glamorous ambassador - and she makes fun of that in her new comedy, Beauty On Duty. In fact, she revealed this is her first duty as a celebrity beauty.

'Ever since I've been in show business, my managers have said they were going to get me a beauty campaign because they say I have good skin,' Ng told CitySeen. 'I said, 'don't worry, it will come'. Then, I kept waiting and waiting, and everyone else I knew got one. It's now been 10, 20 years. I was so excited that [Kos?] finally picked me.'

However, the 45-year-old co-star of the sentimental hit Echoes of the Rainbow, admitted at the event that she might be willing to trade beauty for fertility, as she is interested in having a second child with husband Peter Chan Ho-sun. Apparently, Ng's relatives have loaded her with Chinese herbal drinks to improve her reproductive chi. Then, she may not need any cosmetics at all. Isn't a pregnant woman's glow supposed to be better than any beauty product?
