Veteran actor Lam Kau dies at 88

Veteran actor Lam Kau, affectionately known as Man Suk or uncle, died in hospital yesterday after collapsing in a mall near his home. He was 88. In a TV and movie career that spanned from the early 1950s to 2000, Lam had parts in more than 600 productions, including the legendary Wong Fei-hung series. He was also well-known in Cantonese operas for his northern-style martial arts, which he performed himself.
