Order an Indonesian fried rice across the border and you may end up being served a Nazi. The mainland is full of amusing linguistic blunders, but this one looks too deliberate to be a mistake.

Someone must have been too bored with his job. and had too much time on his hands.

An alert reader was recently at the Jin Yi Ge coffee shop of the Golden Central Hotel in Shenzhen to savour its international food-festival promotion, when the 'Asian touch' section rather caught his attention: 'Nazi Goring Fried Rice in Indonesian Style'.

We have had nasi goreng, but perhaps this one came with a completely different recipe inspired by the infamous Nazi leader Hermann Goering, who was an overweight glutton, if not a gourmet.

We tried to get a comment from the coffee shop's manager about the Nazi menu it is serving. 'We do have Nazi fried rice,' a Putonghua-speaking female manager said. 'But you have to come to pick it up - we don't deliver.'

Oh well, maybe it was an honest mistake after all.
