The MTR Corporation is relaunching its MTR Club with a range of benefits, including free gifts and bonus points for the use of an Octopus card.
The relaunch is the first major activity for the club since the MTR Corp took over the rail operations of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation in December.
More than 350,000 free tickets and cash coupons are up for grabs to members of the club, which now covers the East Rail and West Rail lines.
The bonus points scheme, lasting from today until June 30 next year, offers one point for every HK$1 spent.
The first round of gift redemptions will offer two special tickets designed by local artist Seeman Ho or a HK$20 cash coupon on the Airport Express. Passengers can redeem a ticket or a coupon for 400 points.
MTR Corp senior manager Annie Leung Ching-man said the aim was to get 10 per cent to 20 per cent more passengers.
