The car of the future may have arrived but, unfortunately, the BMW Hydrogen 7 won't be available at your local dealer just yet.

The industry's excuse is 'the structure isn't in place' - meaning you can't fill up on hydrogen at the local Esso.

But you can be one of the first to test-drive the revolutionary 6.0 litre V12 luxury sedan (below) starting today at the old Kai Tak airport until next Wednesday.

Now that Nobel Prize winner Al Gore has driven home (pun intended) the message about reducing pollution and protecting the environment, BMW is testing out this concept vehicle, which can run on either liquid hydrogen or petrol.

When the car is in hydrogen mode, emissions are next to nothing.

Among the folks who are privileged enough to get their hands on one of these not-yet-for-sale rides include Gore, Placido Domingo, Madonna, David Suzuki and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
