As the temperature turns temperate, Tarlan Amigh plans to restart her Open Air markets (pictured). After a summer hiatus, the community-oriented, non-corporate flea market events featuring special vendors, homemade goodies and organic produce aim to get even bigger and better this fall.

They just announced things will begin again with a Discovery Bay market on Sunday, September 2, hosted in conjunction with Water Margin restaurant on its piazza space above the beach. At Discovery Bay, the normal HK$20 is even waived so admission is free.

Then on the following Sunday, September 9, the Borrett Road market returns, with the Pok Fu Lam market following on September 16. Vendors interested in joining can find details and applications at www.openairhk.com. You must have a hand in the design or manufacture of what is sold.

In addition, Open Air is also expanding to movies. Come October, Amigh will debut her Moonlight Movies events with outdoor screenings to take place in about the same space where the Pok Fu Lam market takes place.

'All the films will be shown at Cyberport, on the grass with bean bag seats, food by Cafe Deco and a bar run by Delaney's,' spokeswoman Rachel Plecas said. 'We'll have more info next week, when the schedule of films is confirmed. I can't wait.'
