The owner of a flat blamed for a water leak that caused an insect infestation in the flat downstairs told the District Court yesterday the leak did not originate in his flat.
The evidence was given in a hearing into the problems of the family of Lo Yee-ha, whose home was damaged by a water leak in 2003 and an ensuing insect infestation.
The family is seeking an injunction order against the owner of the flat above.
The court earlier heard evidence about the damage to the Los' flat in Westland Garden, Quarry Bay, caused by water seepage.
The leak caused mould on the ceiling, which resulted in an infestation of psocids insects.
The court heard the leak started in the bathroom and kitchen ceilings and spread to the guest room. Ms Lo's daughter had suffered frequent insect bites.
