Legendary British heavy metal band Iron Maiden return with their 14th studio recording, the moderately progressive and entertaining A Matter of Life

and Death.

The album, which comprises 10 songs with an average length of seven minutes, is perhaps their longest to date. The lengthiest track, The Legacy, runs for more than nine minutes.

The music is like old school rock 'n' roll - fast and furious but without the pessimistic attitude of modern rockers.

It opens with Different World, a mid-tempo heavy metal track with the catchiest melody on the album. It's the perfect song to kickstart a rock concert and make everyone stand up and chant.

It's followed by These Colours Don't Run, a track marked by its unique take on the issue of war. Instead of criticising war, the song celebrates the men who - for whatever cause or ideology - 'fly a flag in some foreign soil' to get their job done.
