Canto-pop idol Gillian Chung Yan-tung filed a police complaint yesterday, seeking an investigation into Easy Finder magazine for publishing pictures of her changing backstage during a concert in Malaysia.

The Twins singer went to police headquarters in Wan Chai to give a statement after a meeting with her lawyers. Chung, who returned to Hong Kong yesterday, spent two hours at the station before rushing off to a rehearsal for a TV programme.

'I think it is not good. They act like they have a right to do it,' said Chung, who was accompanied to the station by colleagues from the Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG).

Saying that she had been deeply scarred by the incident, she added: 'Whenever I go out nowadays I have to look around to make sure everything is OK.'

Chung's case will be handled by the Central district crime squad. Her company's lawyers have filed a complaint on her behalf in Malaysia, where Deputy Internal Security Minister Fu Ah Kiow said his government has contacted Interpol and asked Hong Kong police to interview her.

'The police would investigate the matter from different angles such as finding out who has visited the venue on the day,' Mr Fu said. 'The law is like that in which we follow the UK laws, whereby it would be better for the victim to come and report the case herself.'
