Catch a classic German film next month
Film lovers will be able to appreciate a number of classic, award-winning German films next month in the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's New German Cinema of the 60s programme.
Students can learn about post-war Germany through the thought-provoking films, such as Alexander Kluge's pioneering work Yesterday Girl, Jean-Marie Straub and his wife Daniele Huillet's Not Reconciled, Werner Herzog's Even Dwarves Started Small, and Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Beware of a Holy Whore.
These renowned directors had a great influence on Germany's film culture at the time.
The films will be shown at the Hong Kong Film Archive in Shau Kei Wan, and the Hong Kong Space Museum and Hong Kong Science Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui, from September 5 to 24.
All movies are in 16mm film, in German with English subtitles.
Tickets priced at HK$25 for students (HK$50 for adults) are available at Urbtix outlets.
A seminar on German cinema will also be held on September 17 at the Space Museum.
