Bleach: Heat the Soul 3 is the newest Sony PlayStation Portable  game based on the popular manga and animation series, Bleach.

The game follows the story of Kurosaki Ichigo, a 15-year-old high school student who can see  ghosts. His world is turned upside-down when he meets a Shinigami (death god) called Kuchiki Rukia.

While battling an evil spirit called a Hollow, Rukia is wounded.  In an attempt to save Ichigo and herself, she lends Ichigo some of her Shinigami powers. By accident, all her powers are transferred to him.

Since Rukia is now powerless, Ichigo must take up her responsibilities and fight the Hollows. However, Rukia is soon arrested by other Shinigamis because it is a serious offence to give Shinigami powers to humans.

Upon hearing that Rukia is imprisoned and sentenced to death, Ichigo and some friends decide to rescue her.

Along the way there are incredible battles against fearsome opponents. Will Ichigo and his friends be able survive and save Rukia?

The game has a number of game play modes to choose from:

Soul Road: a story mode that is based on the original manga/anime, it focuses on the relationships with partners. Increasing the trust between your character and their partners not only lowers the risk of battles, but also allows you to learn various killer moves.

Mission Battle: scenes from the anime series are shown as short full-motion video clips between battles, allowing the player to feel part of the action.

Soul Vs: this is a versus mode that utilises the wireless LAN function (Ad Hoc mode).

Vs CPU: your opponent (CPU controlled) and stage can be chosen freely.

This is a great fighting game that remains true to the original material.  The main characters and arenas are recycled from the previous instalment, but the number of characters has increased to an amazing 53, including a dozen hidden characters that have to be unlocked.
