China claimed their seventh consecutive women's team world championship title after defeating Hong Kong 3-1 in the final in Bremen, Germany last night.
It was a repeat of the final between the two teams in Doha two years ago when China beat Hong Kong 3-0.
Hong Kong's Tie Yana took the only point from the seemingly unbeatable Chinese women when she defeated world number two Guo Yue 3-1 in the second match, including a 22-20 win in the fourth game.
It was also the only match that the champions dropped throughout the seven-day tournament before clinching the title.
World number one Zhang Yining thrashed Hong Kong's Lin Ling 3-0 in the opening match, and after Tie levelled, Wang Nan staged a fierce comeback by beating Lau Sui-fei 3-2 after conceding the first two games.
Zhang then wrapped up the title for the defending champions as she trounced Tie 3-0 in the fourth match.
China, who are also defending champions in the men's event, marched into that final, ousting Germany 3-1 last night.
