Lego's colourful plastic blocks have lost some of their appeal in the age of electronic gadgets and computer games - but not for a bunch of hard-core fans.
Last Sunday, 53 members of Legofigs.com, a Lego fan club, met at the Cattle Depot Artist Village in To Kwa Wan. Their mission: to build a giant Lego city.
The Lego buffs were each responsible for a section of the city - such as the hospital, railway station, graveyard, museum - and spent the day piecing it together. By the end of the day, the Lego city was seven metres long.
The brainchild of the event was teacher Kenny Sze, who founded Legofigs.com in 2003.
'I wanted to post pictures of my collections on the internet to share with other Lego fans,' said Sze, 29, who started playing with Lego four years ago.
'Only later did I realise that there are many people in Hong Kong who are crazy about Lego.'
