cityu to take 20 for double degree

City University will take 20 students in its new double degree programme in construction and law in the next academic year. The programme, which offers two degrees in  five years, consists of a three-year UGC-funded bachelor's degree under the Department of Building and Construction and a two-year self-financing degree under the School of Law. OUHK GIVEN $10 MILLION FOR CAMPUS

The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has received a $10 million donation from Serena Yang Hsueh-chi, an honorary senior research associate of psychology at the University of Hong Kong. The donation is the second largest to OUHK so far for the construction of its campus.

mcgill team wins case competition

A team of four students from Canada's McGill University took home the champion trophy of an international case competition held in Hong Kong last month. The contest, organised by Citigroup and the School of Business and Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, attracted 19 teams from around the world to analyse the challenges the Airport Authority of Hong Kong is facing and propose strategies and solutions.

environmental film competition

Students are invited to take part in a short-film competition to raise awareness about environmental protection. The contest, on the theme 'Waste Not, Dump Not', is organised by Ricoh and Friends of the Earth and is open to secondary school students, undergraduates and members of youth associations. Films must be no longer than five minutes. The winning teams will receive a digital camera and a four-day learning tour to Japan. The deadline for enrolment is December 14, while entries must be in by January 4.
