Three on the Bund
Where: housed in a neo-classic preserved building on Shanghai's historic bund, you'll find Three on the Bund, where art, culture, food, fashion and music combine to form one of the city's hottest lifestyle destinations.
What to expect: spanning seven floors and more than 2,200 square metres, the space includes four restaurants, three fashion stores, a spa, art gallery and a music room.
The vibe: expect to see a mix of expatriates, tourists looking for a dose of culture and Shanghai's young and fabulous.
Fashion finds: at the heart of Three on the Bund is Giorgio Armani's mainland flagship, which occupies the ground floor. You'll also find Three for Men (ground floor) and Three for Women (2nd floor), which carries a mixture of clothing and accessories from around the world. The selection includes couture giants such as Yves Saint Laurent and designers with a cult following such as Ann Demeulemeester and Yohji Yamamoto. The women's store also carries Marni, Bottega Veneta, Jurlique, Franck Muller watches and eyewear from the likes of Dior, Alain Mikli and Gucci. Men can choose from Ducati, Seven Jeans, CP Company and Costume National. Women should check out the funky changing rooms, which are standalone rattan cocoons.
What not to miss: Jean Georges, rated the best for food by Zagat Shanghai Restaurants 2005 guide and run by legendary chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten; the Shanghai Gallery of Art; the Evian Spa and Barber Shop that offers some of the best spa treatments in the city; and Fine Wine & Co in Three for Men, which boasts a wide selection of fine wines from around the globe.
