Vin Diesel is being marketed as the action hero for the extreme sports generation and it's easy to see why: he's loud, he's large and he's right there in your face. Judging by this, and by last year's The Fast And The Furious, he's also unintentionally hilarious as well, wading through dodgy dialogue with his jaw set firm and his gaze locked tight.
In XXX, he plays Xander Cage, x-sports rebel and basic social malcontent who's roped into becoming a secret agent by the rather devilish-looking Agent Gibbons (Samuel L Jackson).
Cage, or Triple X as he soon becomes known, passes every test thrown at him and, before you know it, he's in Prague matching his wits against a bunch of nasty Russian anarchists.
He does pretty well for someone only in the spy game for a few days, thank you very much, and soon infiltrates their organisation, falling for the fiesty Yelena (Asia Argento) while he's at it. These Russians - mostly enormous in both size and accent - want to spread death and destruction, and it is up to Triple X to save the day.
