JOB SWITCH: Rob Noble has resigned as chief executive of Creative Star which issues stored value smart card Octopus.
He will be replaced by Eric Tai, formerly head of strategic alliances and e-business Asia-Pacific at HSBC.
Launched in 1997, Creative Star has about seven million Octopus cards in issue which are widely used for transport purposes. Its tentacles now reach fast food shops, cake shops, car parks and convenience stores.

Mr Noble will join ERG Group as managing director of its Asia-Pacific division. Based in Australia, ERG specialises in automated fare collection equipment and software systems. It designed and installed the Octopus system in Hong Kong.
