Catherine Zeta Jones is three months' pregnant with Michael Douglas' baby and has been forced to pull out of a major film co-starring Kevin Costner.
The Welsh actress was said to be thrilled at the prospect of becoming a mother for the first time, according to a report in the Sun.
Quoting a source close to the actress, the tabloid said the 30-year-old rising star was forced to cancel an appearance at last Sunday's Golden Globe awards ceremony because of her pregnancy and has been suffering from morning sickness for a fortnight.
Zeta Jones and her 55-year-old fiance were both said to be delighted and her parents are flying to Los Angeles from her family home in south Wales to support her during the pregnancy.
She had been forced to withdraw from the movie Beyond Borders in which she would have appeared alongside Costner, because it would clash with her pregnancy.
The couple became engaged after Douglas proposed to The Mask of Zorro star at his holiday home in the American ski resort of Aspen last year and presented her with a GBP2 million (HK$15.5 million) antique diamond ring.
