Happy Valley's unhappy spell continued when they lost their third straight championship phase match to send their Ericsson First Division title hopes into a tailspin at Mongkok Stadium last night.

Golden's Lamartine Da Silva caused the latest foul-up in Valley's plans by scoring the solitary goal in a 1-0 win to lift his team to third spot in the standings.

The Brazilian midfielder rose majestically to head home Wu Qunli's corner in the 38th minute.

Happy Valley are now fourth on the table on goal difference - five points behind league leaders South China.

Happy Valley have yet to win since beating South China 1-0 in the first phase on February 25.

Happy Valley, who have now lost their sixth straight match in all competitions, need a miracle knowing South China can clinch the title by securing five points in their last three games. Despite the return of English defender Martin Kuhl from suspension, Happy Valley were a mere shadow of their former selves.
