The management of technology is becoming increasingly important in enterprise computing and several of the big players are striving to put solutions together.
One of the most recent partnerships to be announced was between the German software giant SAP and Andersen Consulting.
This alliance should prove to be quite powerful as it develops. At first, the companies will concentrate on the financial and insurance sectors.
The managing partner for Andersen Consulting's global financial services, Stephan James, said: 'The financial services industry continues to undergo far-reaching changes that impacts the marketplace today and offers new business opportunities for the future.
'Based on our insight into the way the industry is evolving and our work with the world's leading insurance and banking organisations, we believe that the solutions we develop under this alliance will help transform the way our clients manage their operating costs and significantly improve their profit margins.' For SAP's part, Henning Kagermann, an executive board member, said the combination would be extremely powerful.
'This alliance combines the world- renowned SAP capabilities in delivering process-oriented business solutions, software development and technical architectures with Andersen Consulting's unrivalled financial services industry expertise and solutions delivery skills,' he said.
