US forwarder wins contract

California-based freight forwarder Union-Transport has been selected by Dow Corning Corp as its primary global provider of ocean freight transport services.

The company will provide supply chain-management services to Dow Corning for product shipments. Dow Corning said it had decided to consolidate from using multi-modal freight forwarders to one global provider as it expected to make supply chain service cost savings of up to 30 per cent.
