*ALTHOUGH the two-man band Raidas has split, it is remembered for many memorable songs and performances. At the height of their popularity, the highly talented duo were right at the top, alongside Hongkong's other big superstars.
But even before Raidas fame, the duo's composer Kenneth Wong had a name in showbiz, having worked for seven years as a studio musician, record producer and supporting performer at various concerts and hotels.
He composed several songs for him and his partner, Thomas Chan, that became instant hits.
Most of the songs on their first album A Smoking Lady were fast and hard-hitting, and were quick to climb the charts.
The title track won the band second place in the Asia Pacific Popular Song Contest 1986.
Wong celebrates his birthday on Wednesday.
