PEOPLE on restricted diets are known to have cravings for foods they cannot and should not eat.

In my case, there are times when I would kill for a good biscuit - especially a good chocolate chip cookie. The problem is, real chocolate is full of saturated fat and cholesterol. And good cookies in general - I mean really good cookies - are loaded with butter and whole eggs.

In short, things that anyone on a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet should avoid like the Ebola virus.

But a little tinkering around with the ingredients, and it is possible to produce a very respectable chocolate chip cookie.

Now, I don't want to mislead you: we're not talking Mrs Field's here.

This cookie is not going to drive Famous Amos or Chips Ahoy from the supermarket shelves.
