Actress Carina Lau an entrepreneurial queen in helping to launch stores ... and her nightclub
Our home-grown, award-winning actress Carina Lau Ka-ling is demonstrating impressive entrepreneurial spirit. The star of Let the Bullets Fly was on a triple roll last week in Shanghai.
Lau launched not just one but three separate businesses outlets on Thursday. She opened stores for Swiss watchmaker Tendence and Italian fashion brand Giuliano Fujiwara, both of which she distributes in the Shanghai market. Later that night she opened her popular nightspot Muse in its new location at Yi Feng Galleria on the Bund, which neighbours such luxury stalwarts as Bottega Veneta, Goyard and The Peninsula hotel. Lau is both investor and board member of the club.
For the grand opening of Muse on the Bund, a bevy of celebrities flew in from Hong Kong to support Lau's venture, including Canto-pop veteran Chung Chun-to (aka Kenny Bee) with girlfriend Fan Jiang, TVB actors Bosco Wong Chung-chak and Joe Ma Tak-chung, and celebrity models Kathy and Niki Chow.
The 3,000 square metre nightclub features a dance floor, lounge area, VIP boxes, dining area and a 500 square metre balcony affording spectacular views over the harbour. Carina it seems is the queen of all she surveys.
