American adult film star Stormy Daniels testified on Tuesday in the criminal hush money case against Donald Trump – the first former American president to face a criminal trial.

In case you’ve forgotten what all the fuss is about, Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 charges in New York City, all related to allegations of him falsifying business records that have been linked to a hush money payment made to Daniels ahead of his 2016 presidential election, according to various reports. ABC noted that Daniels was subpoenaed to appear in court as a witness and went into “great detail” about her supposed affair with the ex-president.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, 45, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to various news sources, she began working in the adult film industry in 2002 and has gone on to direct over 150 films and win numerous accolades.

She’s also been involved in mainstream entertainment, appearing in the 2007 film Knocked Up and the music video for Maroon 5’s song “Wake Up Call.”

Per Reuters, Daniels claimed to have had a sexual encounter with Trump back in 2006, a year after he tied the knot with his controversial wife Melania. Trump reportedly denied the allegations and stated that the payment was put through to stop Daniels’ “false and extortionist accusations”, according to the source.

Reuters added that, in 2016, just days before the presidential election which Trump would go on to win, Daniels signed a non-disclosure agreement. This reportedly involved a US$130,000 payment from Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, in exchange for Daniels’ silence on her alleged sexual encounter with Trump.

In the years since, Daniels has been anything but quiet; a cynic might even suggest she’s exploited her worldwide notoriety. Reuters reported that she created a reality series in 2020 called Spooky Babes where she posed as a paranormal investigator. She has also dived into the realm of tarot cards and psychic reading, and tours with a professional reader, reiki master and medium that goes by the name of Carly Sacred.

Daniels has also been busy doing readings from her explosive, tell-all memoir. Of course, there’s a merchandise line as well as meet and greets with fans.

Daniels quietly married her fourth husband Barrett Blade – a fellow adult entertainment star – in 2022. According to OK!, they met for the first time at a bar back in 1998. Ahead of their wedding, Blade bought Daniels her “dream home”, a horse ranch in Florida, New York Post reported.

Daniels has one child, a daughter called Caden Crain, whom she shares with her ex-husband Glendon Crain, another adult film star, according to Distractify.
