The Uefa Champions League is an annual continental competition for the top football clubs in Europe. It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in world football and the biggest prize in European football. Introduced in 1992, the competition replaced the European Cup, which had run since 1955. Real Madrid is the most successful club in the competition’s history with 13 titles. Real Madrid were champions for a third successive time in the 2017-18 season, beating Premier League giants Liverpool in the final.
