ONE Championship adds final piece to ONE 166 puzzle, pits Jeremy Miado against Keito Yamakita in strawweight bout
- Miado and Yamakita both looking to get careers back on track following recent losses
- Card in Qatar will feature five title fights, with Reinier de Ridder defending middleweight crown against Anayoly Malykhin in the main event
ONE Championship has added the final piece to its ONE 166 puzzle, with 11 fights now on the card for the March 1 event in Qatar.
Among the latest additions is a strawweight bout pitting Jeremy Miado against Keito Yamakita, with both men looking to get their careers back on track after recent losses.
Yamakita (8-1) was beaten for the first time in his career at ONE 165, but was taken down by Bokang Masunyane in Tokyo.
Miado, meanwhile, has lost his past two encounters. The Filipino (10-6) made his ONE Championship debut in 2017 and has beaten top strawweights like Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke and Lito Adiwang.
The other addition to the card is a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight division, where former title challenger Han Zihao has been matched with Shinji Suzuki.
Zihao was handed a shot at the bantamweight Muay Thai title on his ONE Championship debut in 2019, but was stopped by Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and has only managed to win three of his eight fights for the promotion.
Suzuki turns 39 later this year and will be looking to prove he still has plenty to offer. The Japanese fighter is coming off a stoppage loss at the hands of Suablack Tor Pran49 at ONE Friday Fights 32.
In all, there are five title fights on the card, with Reinier de Ridder defending his middleweight title against Anayoly Malykhin in the main event.
Malykhin currently holds the heavyweight and light heavyweight titles, the latter of which he won by stopping de Ridder in the opening round at ONE Fight Night 5 last year.
Another MMA rematch sees Jarred Brooks take on Joshua Pacio for the second time. The American holds the strawweight title he won by beating the Filipino at ONE 164 in 2022.
A third title rematch pits Tang Kai against Thanh Le with the undisputed featherweight title on the line. The Chinese fighter holds the regular belt while the American is the interim champion.
