Introduction

ONE Championship Fight Night 10 – the Singapore-based promotion’s debut on US soil – went down on Friday night in Denver, Colorado.

The 11-bout card was topped by a flyweight MMA title fight, with American champion Demetrious Johnson defending his belt against Brazil’s Adriano Moraes. It was the third time the pair met in the ONE Circle, having scored a highlight-reel knockout apiece in their first two fights.

It was a competitive fight, but Johnson ultimately won it by unanimous decision to retain his belt. He had been contemplating retirement before the fight, but deferred that decision in his post-fight interview – something the raucous fans in attendance seemed glad of.

The co-main event saw reigning flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon defend his belt by flattening Mexican challenger Edgar Tabares. The Thai champion showed again he is one of ONE’s most dominant fighters – and picked up a double performance bonus of US$100,000 for his efforts, with the crowd going wild for him at the 1stBank Centre.

In the third fight from the top of the card, American flyweight submission grappling champion Mikey Musumeci kept hold of his belt by submitting Yemen’s Osamah Almarwai. He also picked up a US$50,000 bonus for his efforts.

Earlier in the night, Stamp Fairtex melted Alyse Anderson with a body-shot KO to earn an interim atomweight MMA title shot – and she also bagged a US$50,000 bonus.

As did former champ Zebaztian Kadestam, who also seemingly wrapped up an interim welterweight MMA title shot with a shocking second-round KO of Roberto Soldic in a huge upset.

The card also featured the return of former UFC star Sage Northcutt – another bonus winner – who submitted Ahmed Mujtaba in less than a minute of their lightweight MMA clash.

Earlier, former two-division ONE champ Aung La N Sang wrapped up a third-straight victory by submitting Fan Rong at middleweight.
