UFC: Jorge Masvidal tells Floyd Mayweather to ‘go beat up little guys in Japan’ if he wants easy money

  • ‘Gamebred’ says Mayweather ‘bigger lottery ticket’ than Conor McGregor
  • ‘If you’re looking for a fight I’m right here … if you want something easy go get the other dudes’

Jorge Masvidal has told Floyd Mayweather to “go back to Japan and beat up little guys” if he’s not interested in testing himself against the UFC star.

Undefeated boxing icon Mayweather said he is coming out of retirement again in 2020 and has agreed to an event with UFC president Dana White.

“BMF” champion Masvidal has thrown his name into the hat to fight “Money” – after he gets his hands on Conor McGregor, of course.

“That’s [McGregor] one of the lottery tickets we’re possibly gonna cash in. It’s not the biggest but it’s one. [The biggest is] me vs Mayweather,” Masvidal told TMZ Sports. “I want cash money, I got children and those children have needs.

“I can box my a*** off. I’m not saying I’m a better boxer than Mayweather but I’ll be in there with bad intentions, trying to hurt him. I’m a well-conditioned athlete that’s not gonna fade in the eighth or ninth round, I’ll be there the whole night.

“If you’re looking for a fight I’m right here. If you’re looking for an easy pay cheque, go back to Japan and beat up these little guys, man.”

UFC: McGregor ‘definitely’ wants Masvidal fight, says White

“Gamebred” was, of course, referring to Japanese kick-boxer Tenshin Nasukawa, whom Mayweather obliterated in 139 seconds on New Year’s Eve for a US$9 million payday.

“Mayweather’s done so much, I can never discredit that guy,” Masvidal said. “If he wants to fight someone who’ll come give it his all, and try to execute him and get him out of there, that’s the only thing I’m trying do, turn his lights out.

“If you wanna fight a guy like Khabib [Nurmagomedov, the UFC lightweight champion] who doesn’t know how to box, his strength is to wrestle, he doesn’t beat guys boxing. He wants to fight that guy I get it, Mayweather paid his dues, he can do whatever the hell he wants.”

Masvidal said fighting former two-weight champion McGregor in the UFC Octagon in April, and then boxing Mayweather in November, would be a “pretty good year”.

“If he [Mayweather] wants something he has to get up early in morning for and train at night, that’s me man. If you want something easy go get the other dudes,” he said.

“I’m not gonna get tired throwing at him, and I’m gonna be able to tie him up. I have a game plan in my head, and I have all the decision in the world I would be able to pull the trigger on that game plan for 12 rounds. I’m betting on myself with everything I got, my fight IQ mixed with my power, I’m leaning towards me always.
